The client portal & magic-link sign-in
Every workspace gets a branded client portal. Your clients never create a Kariant account or password: they request a sign-in link by email, click it, and land in their portal.
How sign-in workslink
- check_circleA client opens your portal link and enters the email address you have on file for them.
- check_circleIf that email matches a portal-enabled contact in your workspace, a one-time sign-in link is emailed to them. Links are single-use and expire.
- check_circleThe portal never reveals whether an email exists in your workspace — wrong emails get the same neutral response.
- check_circlePortal access is per contact: you switch it on for each client you want in the portal.
What clients seelink
- check_circleDashboard — an overview of everything you have shared with them.
- check_circleInvoices — their invoices with status and payment links you attach.
- check_circleDocuments — files you shared plus open document requests they can upload against.
- check_circleContracts — agreements awaiting their review or signature.
- check_circleTasks — items assigned to them in your projects and workflows.
- check_circleMessages — the message thread between your team and the client.
Public pages on your portallink
- check_circlePages you publish from the Portal Builder go live at /portal/{your-slug}/p/{page-slug} — no sign-in required, drafts stay private.
- check_circlePackages marked Public in your Storefront are listed at /portal/{your-slug}/store with your branding and an enquiry path; purchases are completed with you directly.
- check_circleData-room reviewers are emailed a personal access link automatically when you add them; access is counted per reviewer, links honor room expiry, and download-restricted rooms show documents without download links.
Frequently asked questions
Do my clients need a Kariant account?expand_more
No. The portal uses email magic links; there is no password and no account signup for clients.
A client says the sign-in link doesn’t work.expand_more
Links are one-time and expire quickly. Ask them to request a fresh link, and confirm their contact record has portal access enabled and the correct email.
