Koin deposits on quotes
A quote can carry an optional deposit set by the partner. Accepting such a quote funds a hold from your Koin wallet — the deposit settles to the partner only when the booking completes, and fully refunds if the request is declined or cancelled.
How the deposit workslink
- 1The partner quotes your request and may set a deposit amount on the quote — deposits are optional and partner-set, so many quotes carry none.
- 2When you accept a quote that carries a deposit, the amount is funded as a hold from your Koin wallet — held, not paid out.
- 3On completion of the booking, the held deposit settles to the partner.
- 4On decline or cancel, the hold is fully refunded to your wallet.
What to know before acceptinglink
- check_circleYou always see the deposit amount on the quote before you accept — accepting is what funds the hold.
- check_circleYour wallet must cover the deposit at acceptance time; top up on /koins if needed.
- check_circleA held deposit never moves to the partner early — settlement happens only at completion.
- check_circleThere is no partial forfeiture: the outcome is settle-on-complete or full refund on decline/cancel.
Frequently asked questions
Is a deposit required on every quote?expand_more
No. The deposit is optional and set by the partner per quote — many quotes carry no deposit at all.
When does the partner actually receive the deposit?expand_more
Only when the booking completes. Until then it is a hold on your wallet, and a decline or cancellation returns it to you in full.
Can I lose part of a deposit?expand_more
No partial outcomes exist: the deposit either settles in full to the partner on completion, or refunds in full to you on decline or cancel.
