Exam day: the live quiz & fair play

Two things count while your paper is open: leaving the exam tab or window, and trying to copy text out of the paper — copying is blocked during the exam, and the blocked attempt still counts, so do not try it out of habit. The first of either gets a warning, the second disqualifies the attempt, and the two need not be of the same kind. A counter beside the clock keeps track of the warnings you have used: it updates the moment a warning appears, and it is restored from our records whenever the page is reloaded. If it shows a dash instead of a number, we could not confirm your count at that moment — reload the page and it will come back. The 2-hour limit is timed on our side, sessions cannot be re-submitted, and disqualified or expired sessions cannot submit at all. Full rules: quiz.skollar.club/fair-play.

We do not use your camera or microphone, and we do not record your screen. There is no webcam invigilation at any point — monitoring is limited to activity inside the quiz page itself.

If something goes wrong while your paper is open, or you believe a disqualification was wrong, send a request from quiz.skollar.club/contact — choose "A problem during the quiz" or "Appeal a disqualification". Both are treated as time-critical, and signing in first gives you a reference you can quote.

The quiz works in a normal mobile browser — there is nothing to install. You can hold the phone either way up; in landscape the question and all four options fit on screen together, which most people find easier for a two-hour paper.

Plan for the two hours before you start: switch on Do Not Disturb, set the screen timeout to its longest setting, and charge the phone or keep it plugged in. This matters because the quiz leaving the screen counts as a warning under the two-strike rule, and an incoming call or the screen locking will do that just as surely as switching apps. We keep the screen awake for you wherever your browser allows it, but we cannot override every device setting.

If the quiz does leave the screen, come straight back and carry on. Your answers are saved as you go, so none are lost — but the exam clock does not pause: the two hours keep counting while you are away, which is its own reason to return fast. What costs warnings is time away from the quiz — a single switch away, or shorter absences that add up — never the act of coming back. The counter beside the clock shows any warning as soon as it is issued, so you always know exactly where you stand.
