Reading a category grid report
Grid reports plot published brands in a category by satisfaction and market presence.
What the grid showslink
A category grid places the published brands in that category against two axes: how satisfied their operators and reviewers are, and how established the brand is by unit count, years franchising and international reach. Brands land in one of four groups — Leader, High Performer, Contender or Niche.
Placement is calculated from data the brands have disclosed and from reviews on the platform. Nobody can pay for a position on the grid.
- check_circleA category with very few published brands will not produce a meaningful grid, and will say so rather than showing a near-empty chart.
- check_circleGrids reflect brands published on Kariant, not every brand that exists in a category.
